During the YWCA Central Alabama annual meeting, Dr. Jenny Gauld presented the Woman of Valor award to past presidentHenrietta Emack for her continued support of the YWCA and her dedication to helping the community.
Inspired by Proverbs 3 and Proverbs 31 of the Old Testament, the YWCA’s Woman of Valor Award honors women of courage, faithfulness and devotion to family and community.
“Mrs. Emack has devoted much of her life to serving the community around her through her work at the YW and numerous organizations,” said Dr. Gauld.“She has served as the president of the board for several of community organizations, including the YWCA Central Alabama. She is a dedicated mother and grandmother and, when she’s not serving the community, she enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren.”
Also at the annual meeting, Board President Yolanda Sullivan said a special thank you to each one of the members who rotated off the board this year. Your devotion and dedication to the YWCA are greatly appreciated:
Nan Broughton, Malena Cunningham, Dr. Renee Peacock, Lisa Thompson-Smith, Teresa Thorne
