Stand Against Racism 2011 on Friday, April 29th, featured excerpts from "Too Many Questions: An Evening with Virginia Durr," the one woman show about the Birmingham native and civil rights activist who went against the social norm to become a passionate voice for justice and equality in the segregated south. The play, written by Lee Shackelford, featured Ginny S. Loggins who captivated the audience in her portrayal of Durr.

After the play, guests participated in a moderated conversation about race relations and identified different ways that each person can make a difference. Guests were then invited to sign the Birmingham Pledge, making a personal, daily commitment to remove prejudice from our own lives and to treat all people with respect.

We seek to bring people together for one common goal – the elimination of racism.
