This program gives children living in community shelters the extra attention and support they need during the school year. Volunteer tutors work with elementary and middle school children on homework, reading skills, classroom projects and special events.
Must enjoy working with children and be at least 19 years old. Volunteers must complete the volunteer training program and have good interpersonal skills with children and adults. Experience working with school-age children preferred.
1 ½ hour mandatory training sessions are held bi-monthly. The program is after school, Monday through Friday. Volunteers arrive at 3:45 p.m. and can stay until 5:45 p.m. Ideally volunteers commit to come one day a week for either the Fall or Spring semester, or longer.
If you have any further questions regarding the After School Enrichment Program, please contact our coordinator.

Due to the nature of the services that the YW provides to women and children, volunteers working with children, and in some cases, volunteers working with our domestic violence program will undergo background checks.
