Domestic Violence Legal Services Staff Attorney

The YWCA is seeking a full-time Domestic Violence Legal Services Staff Attorney to work in our Domestic Violence Services Offices located at One Place Metro Alabama Family Justice Center.


This position will provide advice and representation to survivors of domestic violence in civil protection order cases.  The Staff Attorney will also conduct advocacy, education and other outreach activities.



  • Juris Doctorate degree
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Outstanding oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and a high degree of flexibility
  • An ability to work collaboratively with other staff as well as self motivation

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must have knowledge of, or experience in, domestic violence law
  • Prior experience in a public interest setting is highly desirable
  • Member of the Alabama State Bar
