Donor Relations Specialist

Summary:

The YWCA is seeking a full-time Donor Relations Specialist who will be responsible for assisting with the successful implementation of all YWCA fund development strategies and activities including special events, solicitations, and communications.

Essential Functions:
  • Assist with the implementation of annual YWCA fund development strategies.
  • Manage annual mail, email and social media solicitation strategies working with the communications office to develop materials and messaging.
  • Assist in management of donor database including generating reports and statistical information.
  • Coordinate donor and volunteer acknowledgement and stewardship processes.
  • Assist in management of donor database, including gift entry, generating reports, and producing acknowledgements as needed.
  • Provide day-to-day support for special events team including meeting material preparation, database management, and overall support for committees.
  • Serve as key contact for table captains and hosts and oversee guest list for all major events.
  • Serve as external facing member of development team, conducting tours and speaking engagements for donors and volunteers and representing the YWCA in the community as needed.
Critical Competencies:
  • Knowledge and practical understanding of key fundraising techniques such as direct dialogue, mail, telephone, web, database, digital and social media.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as polite and friendly demeanor.
  • Technical capacity – Proficient in Microsoft Office and Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze data and information.
  • Teamwork/Collaboration skills - Team player; flexible and able to work outside of normal business hours when necessary
  • Initiative - Self-starter with a desire to take on new challenges
  • Multi-Tasker – Must be able to handle multiple projects
Required Education and Experience:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field
  • Three years relevant work experience
