Summary

To provide supervision and life skills guidance to resident families for the YWCA Interfaith program, ensuring the smooth operation of the facility in a way that provides exceptional tenant services for residents while achieving the highest standards of compliance.

 

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision of clients and shelter security during hours on-duty
  • Answer and deal effectively with crisis calls
  • Provide appropriate referrals to clients who are ineligible for shelter; provide referrals as needed to other community agencies
  • Conduct new client intake procedures and shelter policy orientation
  • Assist in facilitating move-in and move-out arrangements for shelter residents; prepare and clean vacant rooms
  • Oversee completion of chores as assigned
  • Supervise client use of medication and record accordingly
  • Provide supplies to clients as needed
  • Conduct daily room checks and routine safety checks
  • Maintain cleanliness of shelter
  • Maintain statistics for evaluation purposes
  • Adherence to the polices of the program and the agency
  • All other duties deemed necessary from time to time for the smooth operation of the program

 

Skills and Qualifications:

 

 

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and crisis intervention skills
  • High School diploma or GED with at least one year experience in human services field
  • Valid Alabama driver's license and driving record acceptable by agency's insurance company
