How to Apply for YWCA Housing
So what’s next?
Once you complete this housing options form and submit it to the YWCA (you can mail it to
YWCA Housing Office at 309 23rd Street North, Birmingham, AL 35203 or drop it off there in person) you will be
sent/handed an application for the housing you are considering.
Once you have completed your housing application packet and submitted it to the YWCA, the YWCA’s Housing staff will review everything and ensure it is complete.
After Housing staff has reviewed the application packet, you will be notified in writing as to whether or not it appears that the packet is complete and whether or not the you appear to meet the eligibility criteria for the property for which you applying. If you appear to meet the eligibility criteria for the property specified, you will be added to the waiting list for that property.
Although the YWCA is always accepting applications, this does not necessarily mean there are available vacancies at this time. The YWCA maintains waiting lists for all properties. In order to be placed on the waiting list you must submit a complete application that appears to meet eligibility criteria for the property applied for.
The YWCA is unable to determine how long the wait may be as this depends on unit turnover and eligibility.
Once there is a vacancy and your name comes up on the waiting list, Housing staff will contact you to schedule an interview and conduct the final qualification process prior to move in.
No matter what, all applicants will be notified in writing of the YWCA’s determination. |
