The YWCA Welcomes AmeriCorps
2011-12 YWCA Americorps Members
We’re excited about the start of a new AmeriCorps service term. The YWCA Central Alabama has available 35 full time AmeriCorps member positions designed to further the YWCA’s work in eliminating racism and empowering women. Positions begin September 1, 2012.

Members are matched with the position that best fits their skills and interest. Benefits include a living stipend of $12,100/year, an educational award of $5,550 upon completion, health insurance, child care subsidy, an opportunity to serve with some of Birmingham's premier nonprofit organizations and professional development.
Each position is designed to further the work of the YWCA and its partnering organizations in domestic violence prevention, economic development, education, housing, leadership empowerment, child care, and social justice.
