HOW TO SHARE YOUR TIME & TALENT
VOLUNTEER WITH THE YWCA
YWCA Central Alabama welcomes and invites you to explore ways to share your time and talent within our programs! We appreciate and value your interest in supporting women and families in our community and we look forward to developing relationships with individuals, businesses, and organizations to both educate and engage in our mission and service opportunities.
Whether it is tutoring children, painting walls, sorting clothing, or hosting a special donation drive from our wish lists, we have one-time, short-term, seasonal, and ongoing opportunities for both adults and youth!
READY TO GET STARTED?
To begin this partnership, we invite you to get to know us better first through our YW AT A GLANCE ORIENTATION, which is offered monthly on the first Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at 309 23rd Street North, Birmingham, AL 35203. Register for the next or future orientation best suited for your schedule.
You will have an opportunity to complete an application and other supportive paperwork immediately following the orientation and choose from current and future service opportunities within our programs or departments. Additionally, as opportunities become available, notifications will be sent via email.
If you're new to the YWCA, orientation is a great way to become familiar with our mission.
VOLUNTEER AS A GROUP!
We do our best to match groups with projects and needs identified by our program staff.
Tours and overviews of our mission are how we orient large groups.
If you're looking for a regular and continuous way to volunteer, our ongoing opportunities may be a great fit! The time commitment will vary by program but each will provide scheduled dates and times.
