The YWCA provides several ways for volunteers to support our organization. Whether you have a few hours or a few days, we are grateful for your time. Fill out the online application today to volunteer with the YWCA!
This program gives children living in community shelters the extra attention and support they need during the school year. Volunteer tutors work with elementary and middle school children on homework, reading skills, classroom projects and special events.
A shelter at a confidential location where women and children can find help without fear of being discovered by the abuser. The Center offers a variety of services, including individual counseling, a 24- hour crisis line, support groups and special programs for children.
This clothes closet is designed to assist women who are in need of career clothes for job interviews and new employment. Volunteers are needed to help sort and label donations. Volunteers are also needed to work in the shop when it is open for customers.
Santa’s Workshop is held each year at the YWCA to help families living in area homeless shelters and transitional housing programs to have a happy holiday season. Children have an opportunity to make gifts that they can give to moms, teachers, friends and others in their life circle and can even have their picture taken with Santa.
Moms are able to “shop” (everything is free) for gifts to give their children.
Occasionally volunteers are needed to help with special projects, from assisting staff with large events to providing extra office help. The volunteer coordinator keeps a list of people who are willing to help with various tasks on an as-needed basis. This is a great way to get involved without making a regular commitment to a program. Call us to find out how you or your organization can get involved.
If you have a group looking for a project or have a special talent/ skill you’d like to utilize, call us to arrange a special project.

Due to the nature of the services that the YW provides to women and children, volunteers working with children, and in some cases, volunteers working with our domestic violence program will undergo background checks.
