Birmingham, Al – YWCA Central Alabama’s recently seated CEO is featured on Friday’s Organize your Butterflies, an original podcast of YWCA USA.  Each episode discusses the way women, including amazing YWCA leaders, help women, girls, and families. Topics include organizing, strategizing, and mobilizing around issues like equal pay, domestic violence, women’s entrepreneurship, and so much more, and how YOU can get involved. The purpose behind their butterflies is to create change and build a better future for women, families, and our communities.

This episode of Organize Your Butterflies features a conversation between YWCA USA CEO Alejandra Y. Castillo and Melanie Campbell, President and CEO of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation and convener of the Black Women’s Roundtable Public Policy Network and YWCA of Central Alabama, is this episode’s featured spotlight.   Alejandra talks with CEO Dr. LaRhonda Magras on her first 30 days in this position, what motivates her, and what she’s looking forward to as she begins her role leading this distinct association for women and girls. Dr. Magras joins YWCA of Central Alabama from sister association YWCA Nashville and Middle Tennessee, where she served as the Senior Vice President of Program Operations.

“I organize my butterflies in three buckets.  Those things I directly control, the things that I can do in partnership with others, from cooking dinner to a major partnership for my organization. And finally, the third bucket consists of things I can influence, like serving as a connector, it’s how I prioritize my day and life,” said Dr. LaRhonda Magras, YWCA Central Alabama CEO. The episode is available today on the Organize Your Butterflies webpage and can be downloaded on various platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Stitcher, Spotify, Tunein, and RSS.
