YWCA Central Alabama's annual KIDS Korner Luncheon raises critical funds to support the YWCA’s nationally-accredited child development program for children of low-income and homeless families. Table hosts invite hundreds of their friends, co-workers, and neighbors for a day of friend-raising and fundraising. This year's luncheon raised more than $154,600 for the program, which helps children in crisis learn, play and re-discover their self-worth.
The program featured a video highlighting the support and stability that the YW’s KIDS Korner program has provided a young mother and her two children, Violet and Collin. Ashley and her children were led to the YWCA as a result of domestic violence. When they arrived, they had nowhere to live, no transportation and her children needed childcare so that she could work and provide for her family.
