YWCA Family Resource Center

Since 2011, YWCA’s Family Resource Center (FRC) has been a bustling hub for collaborating with the community to provide services and meet needs through outreach, case management, workforce development and trailblazing programming. The YWCA Family Resource Center is a multi-purpose facility in the heart of Woodlawn providing programs, services and events for YWCA Woodlawn housing residents, the greater Woodlawn community and beyond.

Who do we serve?

Programs at the FRC serve children (age 4 & older), teenagers, adults, and senior adults.

What do we offer?

We have educational, family-centered, entrepreneur-supporting and life skills-advancing offerings of programs, events and case management. We also offer youth development programming (to include healthy relationships and a program that discourages bullying and discrimination).

These programs address academic and emotional needs of each child and provide youth with the extra attention and support they need to improve learning outcomes.

How can I help?

We collaborate with community partners such as: Jefferson State Community College, REV Birmingham, Woodlawn Foundation, Eastlake United Methodist Church, ANFRC, DHR, The Alliance Re-Entry Center of Bessemer, Woodlawn High School, and others. The YWCA Family Resource Center welcomes additional community collaboration.

We enjoy the support of volunteers and generous corporate, foundation, and private funding, including individual donors. We also encourage inquiries about volunteering. All programs, services, and events are free of charge to those we serve.
