Summary | To provide supervision and life skills guidance to resident families for the YWCA Interfaith program, ensuring the smooth operation of the facility in a way that provides exceptional tenant services for residents while achieving the highest standards of compliance. This is a part-time Support Staff position with a minimum of 20 hours per week. |
Basic Responsibilities: | - Provide supervision of clients and shelter security during hours on-duty
- Answer and deal effectively with crisis calls
- Provide appropriate referrals to clients who are ineligible for shelter; provide referrals as needed to other community agencies
- Conduct new client intake procedures and shelter policy orientation
- Assist in facilitating move-in and move-out arrangements for shelter residents; prepare and clean vacant rooms
- Oversee completion of chores as assigned
- Supervise client use of medication and record accordingly
- Provide supplies to clients as needed
- Conduct daily room checks and routine safety checks
- Maintain cleanliness of shelter
- Maintain statistics for evaluation purposes
- Adherence to the polices of the program and the agency
- All other duties deemed necessary from time to time for the smooth operation of the program

Skills and Qualifications: | - Strong interpersonal, communication and crisis intervention skills
- High School diploma or GED with at least one year experience in human services field
- Must be flexible with scheduling
- Valid Alabama driver's license and driving record acceptable by agency's insurance company
