YWCA Welcomes 2021 Board President Andrea McCaskey


During its November 2020 regularly scheduled meeting, the YWCA Central Alabama Board of Directors elected a slate of new officers and announced its roster of 2021 Board members. The Board is led by newly elected Board President Andrea McCaskey of Momentum.

CEO Dr. LaRhonda Magras pointed to YWCA Central Alabama’s mission to empower women and said "this outstanding group of women leaders put the power in empower. They are architects and titans in their respective industries. Foremost, they are passionate about the YW’s mission, our community and have elected to put their influence to work in advancing our mission for a better tomorrow. I am excited to be embarking on a new journey in 2021 with this amazing group of leaders and our entire YWCA Board of Directors.”

The 2021 Board officers are:

  • Andrea McCaskey of Momentum (Board President)
  • Erin Stephenson of PNC Bank (Vice President, Development)
  • Sumner Rives of James, Milton & Salle R. (Vice President, Finance)
  • Jenny Sneed of Bridgeworth, LLC. (Vice President-elect, Finance)
  • Eleanor Griffin, Retired, Southern Living Magazine (Vice President, Planning)
  • Leigh Davis of Alabama Power (Vice President, Programs)
  • Holly Stiles, Community Volunteer, (Recording Secretary)
  • Carla Roberson, Retired, Alabama Power (Corresponding Secretary)

New members joining the Board in 2021:

  • Judge Kechia Sanders Davis, City of Birmingham, Municpal Court, Special Judge
  • Yazmin Cavale, GLOW, CEO/Founder
  • Rena Ramsey, Everett Advisory Partners, LLC., Managing Director
  • Stephanie Houston Mays, Maynard, Cooper, and Gale, Shareholder
  • Ashley Gann, CBS42, Chief Meteorologist

McCaskey is the organization’s third African American Board President in its 117-year history. Before joining Momentum, McCaskey served as Vice President of Human Resources at BioHorizons Implant Systems, Inc. McCaskey brings over 20 years of executive-level human resources experience. She has served as President of the Birmingham Junior League and has a long passionate history of serving with the YW.

“Andrea is an exemplary woman leader whose passion led her to a career dedicated to developing women leaders in Alabama by fostering their leadership skills and visibility with Momentum,” Magras said. “Andrea’s heart for serving others, coupled with her expertise, is sure to guide the YW as we continue to navigate the waters during this challenging and uncertain time for nonprofits. We are fortunate to have her leadership and our unwavering Board of Directors at our side.”
