Summer is in full swing in YWoodlawn and the housing staff and AmeriCorps members at the Family Resource Center are working cooperatively with the Woodlawn Foundation to host the Summer CREW program that is providing work training and enrichment opportunities for our YWoodlawn teens age 14-18.

On Thursday, February 2nd, the YWCA Central Alabama will partner with hundreds of other Alabama nonprofits in the inaugural Alabama Gives Day, a statewide day of giving.
Alabama Gives Day is a 24 hour event that starts at midnight on February 2nd and concludes at 11:59 p.m. Through the combined marketing efforts of local media and participating nonprofits, Alabamians will be driven to a central donation website. The website allows donors to choose the nonprofit they wish to support and to make their gift.
The YWCA Central Alabama has partnered with Girls on the Run to provide a healthy after-school activity to build self-esteem for girls in YWoodlawn.
Girls on the Run (GOTR) is a positive youth development program which combines an interactive curriculum and running to inspire self-respect and healthy lifestyles in pre-teen girls.
